Edmondstown Golf Club

1. The Men’s Committee was formed for the purpose of regulating the golfing activities
for members of the Edmondstown Golf Club Limited (the “Club”) who are affiliated
to Golf Ireland.
(a) For all purposes, the Men’s Committee shall be subordinate to the
Management Board (MB) of the Club (as defined and constituted in
accordance with the Articles of Association of the Club (the
“Articles”) in force from time to time).
(b) In the case of any conflict between the provisions of these Bye-Laws and the
Articles, the Articles shall prevail.
(c) Capitalised words and terms used in these Bye-Laws shall have the same
meaning as ascribed in the Articles unless otherwise herein defined or the
context clearly otherwise requires.
2. Men’s Committees shall consist of the following seven members elected at the Annual
General Meeting of the Men’s members of the Club
- The Men’s Captain;
- The Men’s Vice Captain;
- The Handicap & Competitions Committee Representative;
- The Inter Club Team Manager
- The Men’s Junior Committee Representative
- Honorary Secretary
- Treasurer
All such members of the Men’s Committee shall hold office until the date of the Annual
General Meeting of the Men’s Members immediately following the date of appointment
PROVIDED THAT an Ordinary Elected Committee Member shall only be capable of
being elected to the Men’s Committee for three successive terms in aggregate and if so
elected shall not be entitled to seek re-election for two years after completing three such
successive terms of appointment –
- Unless requested or nominated by a majority of the Men’s Committee
- The 3 year restriction does not apply to the Vice-Captain or Captain
