Good pace of play improves the experience for everyone. These guidelines are not about rushing golf, but about encouraging awareness, readiness and consideration for fellow members and guests.

A round of golf is meant to be played at a prompt pace (Rule 5.6b). Each player should recognise that their pace of play affects not only their own group, but also those playing behind.

Pace of play is a shared responsibility. Every player in the group has a role to play in helping keep the course moving and enjoyable for all.
