Edmondstown Mixed Cups & Trophies – A Historical Record (1950–2026)
Over the past number of months, our member Ray Martin has been researching the history of Edmondstown’s mixed competitions and the seven trophies associated with them.
The attached report traces their origins, the people behind them and some of the more interesting achievements and records spanning over 75 years of mixed golf at Edmondstown.
The research has drawn extensively on trophy engravings, Club competition records and photographs, with the Club’s history book, Portrait of a Golf Club by David White and Howard Jacobs, providing an important historical reference point.
The report also includes a comprehensive roll of winners for each of the seven trophies.
It is intended that the report will be updated annually, incorporating each year’s results and any further historical information that comes to light, thereby providing an ongoing record of this important part of the Club’s heritage.
We hope members, particularly those who have participated in these competitions over the years, will enjoy revisiting familiar names and recalling Edmondstown’s rich mixed golfing tradition.
