Project Boundaries

Over the past number of months, a key focus has been Project Boundaries, and we are pleased to share that the land transfer is expected to complete early next week. This represents an important milestone for the club, and we appreciate the continued interest and engagement from members as this has progressed. We will keep you updated as we move into the next phase.

Course Update
On the course, scheduled works have been managed carefully to minimise disruption to play, in line with feedback from members. The drainage programme is now complete, with all machinery due to be off-site by the end of this week.

A number of course enhancements have also been introduced. New tee markers are now in place, and from 1st May a three-flag structure will be in operation, blue (back), yellow (middle), and red (front). This change reflects feedback around playability and course setup, and we hope it enhances the experience for all members. In addition, updated course signage is currently being progressed and is due to be replaced by the end of May, which will further support navigation and overall presentation.

The reopening of the practice ground has been very well received, and it’s great to see it being actively used. Further improvements are planned, with upgraded practice nets to be installed at the rear over the coming weeks. Tree works have also been carried out across the course, improving both safety and overall presentation.

House Update

Within the clubhouse, the House Committee has engaged an architect to explore potential medium- to long-term upgrades, taking into account how members currently use and importantly would like to use the space. In the short term, the exterior of the clubhouse and pro shop will be repainted, with works scheduled to commence the week of 18th May. This will also include the completion of the committee room upgrade. In addition, upgraded lighting has recently been installed in the dining room, improving comfort and usability, taking on feedback from the Bridge Club. The committee has also worked closely with Bliss Cuisine, and feedback on both staffing and the standard of food has been very positive.

Operations Update
From an operational perspective, there have been a number of changes within our office team. Anne has settled in well into her role as Manager. We would like to thank Tahndae and Rita for their contributions to the club and wish them well. We are also pleased to welcome Eoin and Wayne who will join our team from 1st May. A key focus over this period has been and will continue to be the development and implementation of clearer procedures and processes, with the aim of improving consistency and enhancing the overall member experience.

Guest Bookings/Membership

Following agreement at the AGM, the introduction of pre-paid member guest bookings is beginning to have a positive impact, with a reduction in “phantom” bookings, an issue raised by members. This will continue to be monitored and refined to ensure it works effectively for everyone.
Phase one of the membership data tidy-up has now been completed. We will move into phase two in the coming weeks, followed by a third phase focused on a more strategic review of membership as part of the next overall strategic plan. Member input will be an important part of this process and will be incorporated through a number of forums.

Looking Ahead
Looking ahead, the focus for the next quarter will be on governance, including oversight of the next phase of Project Boundaries and completion of the governance review as committed to at the AGM. Alongside this, we will continue embedding new staff within the office and progressing key operational improvements, with a continued focus on enhancing the overall member experience.
